Tuesday, September 28, 2021 - CW Board of Directors Zoom Meeting Sept 28

CANAL WALK HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

September 22, 2021 COMMUNITY UPDATE

Candidates’ Night Date Change

Due to a conflict one of the candidates had with the originally scheduled Candidates’ Night, the date has been changed to Tuesday, September 28th at 7:00 PM. The meeting access information for Zoom is shown below and will be posted on the Canal Walk website. It will also be available for viewing on our Comcast community channel (#1973).

The following candidates will be introducing themselves and presenting their platforms:

Bruce Blum

Robin Gordon

Helen Hoch

Nick Iorio

Christopher Petromelis

After their presentations the candidates will answer questions from the community submitted in advance. Residents must submit written questions via email to Tom Merklinger at tmerklinger@askaa.com on or before September 26th.

There will also be a second Candidates’ Night that will be held via Zoom on October 14th at 7:00 PM. Both will be managed by our Association attorney. In addition, candidate profiles will appear in the October Newsletter.

Election Process

The election process will differ from previous years. Since there are five candidates for two positions, Section 4.03 in the Canal Walk By-Laws requires us to conduct two rounds of balloting. Ballots for the first round will be mailed to homeowners in early October and will be counted on the day of our Annual Meeting on October 28th. The candidate receiving the fewest votes will be eliminated from the ensuing ballot. In early November a second ballot with the names of the four remaining candidates will be mailed to homeowners. There will be another Open Board Meeting later in November to count the votes. The two candidates with the most votes will win the election.
