Acting Up!

Acting UP-- where characters are welcome.  Acting UP is one of the oldest continuing Activities in Canal Walk.  Canal Walk residents gather the first Tuesday of each month to recreate old radio/TV shows, read short scripts or scenes from contemporary and classic plays and short old fashion melodramas.  We experiment with “improv”, have a few laughs and contemplate the wonders of the amateur acting world. We always read from scripts and no memorization is expected. No previous stage experience is needed to join, just an open mind and a wish to have fun. A few of us dabbled by acting in High School plays or on college stages, but it is was many years ago.  In fact, most of us have never been on a formal performance stage before joining Acting UP.  Join us the first Tuesday of each month @ 7:30 PM in the Freedom Clubhouse.

If you are interested, contact Bruce Davidson ( or Gloria Stuart ( for information on how to get involved. Take theplunge and join us.
